Helge Gåsø’s investment company, Frøy Kapital, invests in Remora Robotics – innovative robot technology for sustainable cleanliness in the farming industry.

The technology company Remora Robotics, a leading player in autonomous net cleaning, raises up to 80 million in fresh capital. Among the investors is Frøy Kapital, which together with existing investors Grieg Kapital, Momentum and Singularity, is investing in Remora’s innovative robot technology.

Frøy Kapital’s main goal is to contribute to the development of profitable companies and create jobs along the Norwegian coast. Now they are betting on robotic technology for net cleaning, an investment that signals a strong belief in Remora Robotics’ solutions.

An ideal partnership

One of the major challenges facing the fish farming industry is the growth of biofouling on nets, which impacts operational efficiency and fish health. Autonomous cleaning robots streamline this process, offering significant benefits for fish health and sustainability.

“Frøy Kapital’s entry into Remora Robotics marks a crucial milestone for us. Their industry knowledge and experience make them an ideal investor, capable of helping us grow during this critical phase,” said Svein Erik Gregersen, CEO of Remora Robotics.

Remora Robotics has developed an autonomous cleaning robot that removes harmful growth using gentle brush technology, while employing sensors and advanced algorithms to monitor and inspect fish cages.

Future growth and development

This investment from Frøy Kapital, along with continued support from existing investors Grieg Kapital, Momentum, and Singularity, reinforces a solid foundation for Remora Robotics.

“We believe that Remora Robotics’ technology has the potential to revolutionize net cleaning practices in the aquaculture industry, setting new standards for both sustainability and animal welfare. Our investment reflects our confidence in the technology and the company’s potential,” said Tomas Okstad, Investment Director at Frøy Kapital.

Together, the new and existing investors will work to scale the business and expand both nationally and globally.

“Remora has clear objectives, and we are well underway to achieve them. Our focus is to continue expanding within Norway, enabling us to deliver our technology to customers along the entire Norwegian coastline. In the long term, we also aim for the global market. With Frøy Kapital on board, all conditions are set to accomplish this,” Gregersen added.
